I love, love, love this series. But Dan's story tops them all, with a very close second being Lucy and Jack's story. The Bullet Catchers are body guards who all have significant experience in special ops in previous jobs. Dan was once an FBI agent. The story springs from things that happened to him and to people he cared about while he was an agent. It can be hard to make very extreme, exciting events believable but somehow St Claire manages to keep the reader engaged and on the edge of the seat. In this story, the reader becomes very connected and cares greatly about the main characters. We have gotten to know Dan in previous BC stories but we never really knew the real Dan until this book. We love him, get mad at him, worry about him, cheer him on, and he becomes very real in a basically unreal setting of a high octane thriller. All the Bullet Catchers are heroic, macho, type A men who can think on their feet. What makes them special is that they are all drawn with heart and the ability to be human. They can love and care and feel as well as shoot.

I strongly recommend reading the series in order because the author does a wonderful job developing the main characters as the series goes on. Some of the books in the series are weaker and some are stronger but all of them are better than most stuff out there. The set together is amazing and very worth reading. In the last few years, St Claire has abandoned high suspense/romance for the easier straight romance which is a huge shame because she shines in this genre and so few can do it well. She is exceptional in this genre. GIVE US MORE BC!!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. It was another one you didn't want to put down. Kept you interested.
Great book Only problem is once I start reading I don't want to put it down. Wish there were more Bullet Catcher books. Pleassssseee Roxanne St. Claire, write some more.
So glad Dan finally got his act together. So sad it had to be at Maggie’s expense. But finally Dan and Lucy can work together! Loved this story of love lost . . . or was it found, times two? Dan’s redemption is simply sweeter!
This is my favorite kind of Bullet Catcher book -- compelling characters, dangerous situations, some humor mixed in, and the edgy, fast-paced writing style I like so much from St. Claire (but which can be hit or miss in some of the Bullet Catcher books). I must have missed a book in the series, though, because I didn't know the question of a Lucy-Dan connection had been resolved. Guess I'll have to hunt down that book and read it. I loved how St. Claire used Maggie's bracelets as a 'signal' for the two main characters. It works perfectly as a device to show the long history/connection between the two and as a tactical device. Very neat twist. As is the valuable 'key' that Maggie holds, not knowing its significance, or that it's only part of the whole (don't want to say much more and spoil the story). Very well done.
I hated seeing Dan hurt by the relationship between Lucy and Culver. He has been such a stabilizing factor throughout the series. He even made Lucy seem softer. Following Lucy's wedding, Dan takes a leave of absence and decided to make a "welfare check" on a woman he betrayed years before on an opp gone wrong. Not only does he ends up finding her, but also finding a shocking surprise. In addition, Dan and Maggie's common enemy has just been released from prison, and believes Maggie has something he will stop at nothing to possess. The story was full of danger, suspense, and Dan. What more could a girl ask for?
If you have read Roxanne St. Claire Bullet Catcher series...who could not love Dan. He is Lucy's right
hand man. He's a little time for himself. He's happy for Lucy but needs to check on a friend after hearing
some news. She may not be safe. He only tell Lucy he's take a leave of absence. Dan goes to see if Maggie is ok.
She does not know who he is. He was undercover as an FBI and she thinks he is dead. So when he shows up,in her bar he puts the moves on her...never telling her who he really is. Ramon Jimenez who was put away is out and Dan's main reason to go back it to protect Maggie. Ramon shows up one night at her bar. That's when Dan uses Maggie's maiden name and she hears it. Dan finds out something when gets to Miami which catches off guard.
Maggie just has to trust Dan that he will help her and her son. It might cost her and his life if she does not.
